The simple present tense is used to discribe actions that are regular, true or normal for the person who is talking.

El tiempo presente simple se usa para describir acciones que son regulares, verdaderas o normales para la persona que está hablando.

We use simple present:

1. For repeted or regular actions in the present time period (acciones repetidas o regulares en el presente):

ex. I wake up every morning at 6 o'clock.
Sam sleeps seven hours every night during the week.

2. For facts (para hechos):

ex. I have two eyes.
      Chile has a president.

3. For habits (para hábitos):

ex. Susan brushes her teeth twice a day.
Children go to the school every day.

4. For things that are always / generally true (cosas que son siempre o generalmente verdaderas):

ex. American people speak English.
It rains a lot in winter.
